Alvas Ayurveda medical college and hospital is located at mudbidri town of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. The college was established in the year 1966 by Dr Mohan alvas. It is affiliated with Rahul Gandhi University of Health & Sciences (RGUHS) Bangalore and recognised by Central Council of Indian Medicines (CCIM).
The college offers BAMS course duration of which is 5 and 1/2 years & has a total intake of 100 seats for BAMS course. NEET is mandatory & student should have minimum 60% marks in PUC to apply for admission. Apply online by filling the form below.
The college hospital has all the specialities in the field with required infrastructure like Separate OPD & IPD blocks, 250 bedded IPD unit, 8 food patient departments. A good number of patients visit & utilize the service provided, Visiting patients get modern Ayurvedic treatment from the experts in the concerned field.
Occupying 150 acres of land Alvas Ayurveda medical college has one of the biggest herbal gardens in India. Around 2000 different species of medicinal plants are grown organically many research teams from other countries, scientist, Ayurveda students from various colleges of Karnataka regularly visit the place and extract benefits out of it.
Students of the institutions are trained regarding the preparation of Ayurveda medicine and more than 250 varieties of Ayurvedic medicines are available to the public by the pharmacy.
There are 91 staffs that include highly qualified experienced professors specialized in different subjects of Ayurveda.
College library has vast varieties of books on racks. About 12000 books on Ayurveda, periodicals and journals are available. The library also provides computer internet and xerox facilities to aid students further.
Alvas Ayurveda medical college has a sophisticated and well-equipped physiology laboratory, pathology, dravya guna, rasashastra labs. They help students in getting good practical exposure in the concerned subjects.
Other facilities include College canteen & Auditorium. Extracurricular activities like Dance, singing and sports are also encouraged.
